Check out this video.  It features Google’s upcoming OS called Chromium, which basically looks like the web browser chrome with some extra tabs.  

They refer to the laptops using this OS as ‘netbooks’ as the core design of Chromium appears to be the use of web-based applications.  Except in this case, EVERYTHING on your computer becomes another tab on your web browser, from exploring your hard drive to running microsoft office.  and because this is a web-based OS with no proprietary coding framework, anyone who make a application that can run in a browser can run on Chromium.

Chrome became my default web browser from the first second I started using, so Im eagerly awaiting to see if this can do the same (although I recently bought my first Mac so its gonna be a pretty tough fight).  However, whatever Google touches usually turns to gold so who knows.  After watching the video, it at least deserves a shot..
